April Showers bring....

SNOW! A minimum of 20" and still falling. This does not count the drifting which is preventing me from getting up my driveway even with the 4wheel drive. Normally I would be clam happy, but I was to go to Denver this weekend for a 2-day pilot class. Unable to manhandle our snow thrower, here I sit. Thankfully stitching really soothes my wounds. I did not shoot this photo in black and white, there is absolutely no color our there today except various shades of gray. End of next week predictions: high 70's! If you don't like the weather in Colorado, wait an hour. So they say.

  1. That brings back memories from a very long time ago. Everything is so quiet and lovely (until you grow up and have to shovel out to get to work).

I admire your stash. Just where do you do your shopping so far from the crowded city?

  2. Hi Madonna,

Oh my goodness! That much snow at this time of year???

I'm so sorry you weren't able to go to class today. Will you be able to get out tomorrow for the second day?

  3. Cyn, I know, I hope I can get out in the morning. The snow has just now stopped although it is still very overcast. Thanks for writing.

  4. Hi Margaret,
It is very quiet and peaceful when the ground and trees are full of snow. I haven't seen a bird all day.
Denver has but one needlepoint shop left, but there are a few others shops that carry a nice supply of specialty threads. In this case I did get many of the threads from a recent trip down to Colorado Springs. I am situated halfway between Denver and the Springs. Thank you for visiting today and commenting.

  5. Okay - I promise not to whine anymore about our March snow storm that dumped 9 inches of snow! You are a good woman for being so tolerant of SNOW IN APRIL!!! What is up with that?! Happy stitching while you wait for the 70' temps.

  6. While you are trapped inside, how about looking for a template? I found a three column one here.

But I'm sure there are more. Search on "free blogspot templates" and see if you find anything.

  7. We only got 12" where I am and 26hours later all but 4" has melted away! Gotta love Colorado! I hope you made it to class today and I will see you at the meeting tomorrow!

  8. Kelly, I usually do not mind being snowbound, I'll just stitch, cook and no one can get to the door so I may as well stay in my robe. I know it's a hard life but someone has to do it.

But this weekend I missed both days of the pilot class that I've been signed up for weeks so the snow couldn't have fallen at a more inconvenient time. Can't have everything apparently.

Jane, thank you for the link, it looks good. Appreciate the help.

Mary, I couldn't believe how long it snowed here; I missed class both days which was a major disappointment. Denver didn't get much to worry about, but we were deluged. Then today it was sunny, we lost some of the depth but my neighbor had to come plow me out in the afternoon otherwise I would still be stranded. See you at ANG tomorrow night.
