An astonishingly different day

I've only lived in Colorado for 10 years yet I remain amazed at the change in the weather patterns from one hour to the next. After yesterdays beautiful morning, we did get a little rain and wind in the afternoon. But nothing like what happened this afternoon noon. The view is just slightly to the north from yesterday's shot. Mother Nature at her most powerful is still beautiful, still inspiring but in a different way. Hopefully I'll get beyond the weather report and on to some stitching next time.

  1. Wow, Madonna, it sure looks like a stormy day, kind of menacing. Running for cover :-)

  2. LOL! I don't exactly know how far that super-cell was from us but it was close enough to cool the temps down by 15 degrees. When you're situated out in the wide open spaces you get a totally different view of these things than if you're under the cover of trees.

  3. Nature is, indeed, awesome and beautiful - even when frightening, as a hurricane. I also find it's very calming - as in your photos, and it kind of gets things into perspective about the size of the universe vs. the size of me and of my own personal complaints. I find it very soothing. I enjoy a gorgeous sunset, which reminds me at the end of the day exactly who is in control of the world -

  4. Yes it does. If only we could recall this on our own more often, but this is why we were given the gift of friendship, so we could remind one another of just how lucky we are to make it to the end of the day to view the sunset. Thanks so much for writing.
